The team will be working with the local church based in Harrismith to assist them in the work they already do amongst the poor and the disadvantaged. We will be repairing walls and roofs in preparation for winter, we will run assist in feeding programmes and help in the local orphanages within the surrounding townships. And anything else we can help with.

“Defend the cause of the weak and the fatherless,
uphold the rights of the poor an oppressed.”
Psalm 82:3 (The Bible)
WE LOVE THE PEOPLE OF BURY!
This huge vision was birthed out of a desire to care for people and to meet people’s needs in a practical way.
Darren our Lead Pastor, as Freedom began had an encounter with a young man committing suicide on the pavement of a local street in Bury. With no mobile phone he tried to get help by banging on near by doors, with no response he cried out to God to help!! Moments later a police car drove past, Darren was able to flag the car down and ultimately save the young man’s life!
In refection of this experience God spoke to Darren and said, “The people of Bury are dying and nobody cares.” It was at this point we knew we had to do something, anything to help people, to meet needs and to show Gods’ love. There are many needs behind closed doors in this great town of ours, are aim is to rescue, recover and restore one life at a time…we have a long way to go and many ministries to yet start, but the journey has begun and we’re on our way!
